Summit Trailer is currently seeking to fill a Parts & Service Advisor position for our branch in Prince George, BC. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will be to help internal and external customers with their parts and service requirements. You will provide superior customer service, technical expertise, and focus on building long-term customer relationships.
Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
Answering incoming calls and providing customer service in a professional manner
Selling and invoicing over the counter parts
Create invoices/repair order with all required customer information, charging parts to correct repair invoice/repair order
Inventory control
Processing warranty claims
Processing outbound shipments
Monitoring daily reports
Sourcing / ordering required parts from vendors
Processing vendors invoices for parts required
Ordering regular stocking from the Part Distribution Center
Transferring inventory for specific product lines to other Summit branches
Shipping / receiving duties
Creating new part numbers in accordance with established guidelines
Processing payments received from customers
Advising customers when necessary, service work is required ensuring that work is authorized.
Ensuring units are ready when promised and notifying customers unit is ready for pick up in a timely manner.
Accountable for customer repair orders from creation of the repair order to invoicing and customer unit pick up.
Scheduling service appointments with internal and external customers, walking around units when customer arrives to capture accurate unit information and required repair work.
Ideal Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
2 to 3 years of heavy-duty truck & trailer parts experience
2+ years with front line sales and customer service
Prior parts sourcing or purchasing of products an asset
Customer service focus & ability to build relationships
Able to up-sell products to customers
Strong numbers orientation, attention to detail
Organized, sets priorities, meets deadlines
Basic computer knowledge with ability to learn in-house systems
Knowledge of Karmak business system an asset
A team player, shows initiative, and a continual learner attitude
Able to bend, squat and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through informal automotive/truck mechanical experience a definite asset
Forklift license or ability to achieve an asset

Rig Out Technician – Summit Trailer (Penticton, BC)
We are looking for an Apprentice or Journeyman Rig Out Technician who has the ability to work on all makes of commercial trucks and truck bodies from assembling new units to troubleshooting issues.
Responsibilities:
Proven mechanical abilities in installing and troubleshooting hydraulic components and electrical, including schematics and diagnostics
Proven ability to diagnose and complete advanced repairs on all makes and models
Advanced experience using computer diagnostic tools
Willingness to complete company provide technical training
Qualifications:
Truck rig out experience
Welding experience an asset
Strong electrical knowledge
Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems
Strong attention to details
Team player with strong commitment to customer service
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a busy environment
Proficient use of both hand and power tools.
Hours:

Customer Relationship Management & Sales:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers by understanding their evolving needs. Proactively promote and sell truck and trailer parts, ensuring regular follow-ups and introducing both new and existing products to support their operations.
Quoting & Sourcing:
Research and identify appropriate suppliers and pricing for parts. Provide accurate quotations and coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement.
Business Development:
Generate new business opportunities through proactive outreach, including cold-calling and leveraging referrals. Maintain a high standard of service for existing customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
Support Services:
Assist with parts counter operations, respond to customer inquiries during and outside of regular business hours, and manage parts pick-up and delivery as needed to support overall service efficiency.

What you need to be successful in this role:
3 to 5 years parts order desk experience (or equivalent truck/trailer parts knowledge)
Prior outside sales experience or experience with potential customer base
